The threatening growl of a fearsome beast. Created by down-pitching a sample, adding reverb and layering it.
Ethereal and haunting, the kind of noise a ghost would make.
Creature SFX
Creatures. Organic or mechanical, supernatural or mundane. All of these were based on samples of my voice.
Various samples processed through a vocoder and then through distortion and reverb to give it an artificial and hostile sound. Ideally for a sci-fi setting with evil robots.
Simple bat squeals.
Musical SFX
Clips that double as SFX or short pieces of music.
A simple piano phrase with noticeable delay for a haunting effect.
A piano intro using the sustain pedal to build up a mournful and foreboding soundscape to give the listener a sense that something terrible will happen at some point.
Droning atmospheric background noise. Created with a very low brass virtual instrument and processed with tremolo and reverb. Eerie, but not overwhelming. Suitable for almost any kind of survival-horror scenario.
Howling wind. A bit busier than usual. Made by whistling then adding reverb and panning.
Mechanical and Visceral. An experimental SFX made with just an electric bass played through various effects and layered several times.
Ambiance
(Headphones Recommended)
The sonic backdrop of any horror game.
Music steeped in horror with a major sound design component.
The theme of a very disturbed character. The aztec death whistle in the background, the high violin drone and the dominant presence of the low strings work together to create a hostile sonority.
Creepy Music
Boss Music. A composition were layers of instruments are slowly added to build up the tension.
